The Training Dresser, designed by
Peter Bristol, is a furniture piece for parents who are looking to develop
their child’s organizational skills. This simple and fun concept is also for any child who is learning to become independent through the practice of daily routines, such as
putting away their own clothes. The t-shirt, socks, and pants graphics help
children identify the item of clothing to locate the proper place to put them away,
basically they are simple visual instructions displayed on the dresser. The dresser
comes in two styles. They both have four drawers: two small ones and two larger
ones. It is built out of maple plywood and finished with clear catalyzed
lacquer. The design is plain white with black outlined graphics. Its clever
uniqueness makes it stand out from other dressers. In the future this furniture
piece can increase its sales by maybe adding a dry erase whiteboard
paint coat that allows the child to personalize their dresser as often as they
please.
